Our mission is to be a place where anyone touched by cancer can find support and resources to
live life to the fullest.
We Believe
People with cancer are not responsible for their disease.
A diagnosis of cancer does not have to be an experience of being alone and isolated. People with cancer should be treated with dignity and respect.
People with cancer, their families, and friends deserve unconditional emotional support along with conventional treatment. People with cancer can improve and enhance the quality of their lives through supportive and participatory activities.
People with cancer, their families, and friends will have access to our support services and programs free of charge.
Our Purpose
Cornucopia House, established in 1996, provides education, companionship, and support that allow people with any type of cancer to explore the best choices for their own approach to coping with cancer.
People with cancer learn that they are not alone...that there is hope... and that they can affect the quality of their lives. All services at Cornucopia House are free of charge and open to people with cancer, their families, and friends at any phase of their journey - diagnosis, treatment, recovery, and survivorship.
Cornucopia House activities are in support of, and in addition to, conventional medical treatment. We work closely with the medical community - including Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center and Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center - to ensure our programs and services integrate effectively.
